Central Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church.  As a church, we gladly and unashamedly embrace the following beliefs:

 The Bible is God’s Holy Word and is totally true and trustworthy.  The Bible is completely sufficient and authoritative in all of life.     

 There is one true eternal God who has revealed Himself in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  He is the sole Creator, the sovereign Ruler, and the final Judge.

 Jesus Christ is God’s Son who is the only Savior provided for people to be saved.  He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died as a substitute for our sin, buried for three days, gloriously was raised from the dead, ascended to the Father, and is coming back again.  

 The Holy Spirit exalts Jesus Christ, convicts of sin, calls sinners to repentance, enlightens and empowers the believer to grow in His grace and knowledge and reveals judgment to come.

 Man is a special creation of God, made in His own image as male and female.  Though highly exalted in creation, the first man, Adam, fell, thus all are sinners and separated from God.

Salvation is freely offered and provided to those who turn from their sin and trust alone in the finished work of Jesus Christ.   There is no salvation apart from trusting Jesus Christ alone.

The church consists of people who have trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.  The church exists to worship Jesus Christ, to tell the gospel, to disciple believers, and to be salt and light to the world.

Believers submit to Jesus’ Lordship through faith and obedience in baptism, communion, prayer, Bible study, fellowship, evangelism and worship.
