Dexter James - Senior Pastor
Dexter has been married to Patricia for over 30 years. They have three wonderful children. Their oldest daughter, Katrina, is married to David Lent, and they have two children, Daniel and Arianna. Their second daughter, Kelsey, has an education degree and is currently teaching in North Georgia. Their son, Cameron, is employed by AT&T and is working in the Gainesville area in North Georgia. All of them have trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord and are activley serving Him. This is Dexter's and Patricia's greatest joy. Dexter has served in ministry for 33 years. His threefold philosophy to ministry is to love God supremely, love people dearly, and preach the Word boldly. This philosophy of ministry has guided him through the years as he seeks to please the Lord. His life verse is "Jesus is before all things and by Him all things hold together" (Colossians 1:17). Dexter has served as the pastor of Central Baptist Church since March 8, 1997. His relationship with the church family is healthy and joyous. Kevin Youngstrom - Interim Minister of Youth
Kevin Youngstrom has been our Interim Minister of Youth since August 2010. He has been involved in several ministries over the last 10 years at Central Baptist Church. He has been married to Keya for 14 years and is a native of Phenix City, AL. He has 2 kids, Zachary and Noah. He attended the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, AL and completed his education with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences at Columbus State University in Columbus, GA. He is planning to attend seminary and pursue a Master’s Degree to better serve God in ministry. Kevin considers it an honor to serve the Lord Jesus Christ through the Youth Ministry at CBC. Debbie Powell - Financial Bookkeeper
Debbie is married to Joe and has 6 children and 5 grandchildren. She held the position of Secretary at Central from March 2005, and was promoted to the position of Financial Bookkeeper in November 2006. Her interests include cooking, reading, soccer, football, the Atlanta Braves, nieces and nephews, and grandchildren.

Joanna Turner - Secretary/Receptionist
Joanna is married to Mike and has 3 children. She joined the CBc family in August 2010. She enjoys singing and volunteering a the local Crisis Pregnancy Clinic. She is a graduate of Liberty University with a BS in Psychology/Christian Counseling. She is currently working on her MA in Professional Counseling also through Liberty University.

Carlvin Shirah - Maintenance and Custodian
Carlvin demonstrates his love for Jesus Christ through a life of service. He serves as the Building Maintenance Personnel by keeping up the buildings and grounds here at CBC. He also heads up the Transportation Team that reaches out in our community to bring boys and girls to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Carlvin is a blessing to all our members by honoring his Lord with excellence in all he does. His passion is to let his light shine before all people so they will know his Lord. He has 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. |
Susan Hoy - Director of Kidz Central Christian Academy
Susan is married to Bill and has 3 children, Heather, Sean and Brennan. She held the position as Assistant Director at the conception of KCCA in June 2001 and was promoted to the position of Director on January 2004.

Christine Edgar - Asst. Dir. of Kidz Central Christian Academy
Christine is married to Charles and has 3 children, Jodi, Nathan, and Brian. She has 5 grandchildren, Madison, Donald, Cameron, Jordan, and Bryce. She started in June 2001 at KCCA as a 4 year old pre-school teacher and in February of 2004 was promoted to Assistant Director, as the position she currently holds.
